Thank you for visiting my site. It traces one mans journey on what to do after retirement.
The first challenge came when a friend called to tell me he had sold his business. He like I, had two sons in the business, was very successful in a niche market and had no intention of selling. He succumbed to an offer that was too good to refuse. It made me think about those family businesses that where able to refuse that offer. Why did they do it? Did they have something in common? Was there some reasoning that could not be explained by value alone? I set out to find out and spent two years researching this subject by interviewing hundreds of family business across the country. The result was my book entitled "Sustaining the Family Business". For more information on the book just click on "Author".
The book's success gave me a chance to lecture on succession issues for the next 5 years at trade associations and Universities with family business programs. To learn more click on "Lecturer".
While all this was happening my interest in art continued and my sculptures in Bronze got better with my old age. To see these and other works in different material just click on "Sculpture".
Recently I became interested in encaustic painting. This is an ancient art of mixing oil paint into hot wax. To see some examples just click on "encaustic".
All of the income from my book, lectures, and art is given to charity through the Paisner Charitable Foundation.
